[IMPORTANT] Start of JINEN SAUNA Construction & Notice to Guests

As a collaborative project led by JINEN Inc. (based in Yakushima, CEO: Daichi Hasaki), a new sauna facility will be constructed on the grounds of Årc yakushima.

This sauna project places strong value on environmental regeneration and community building, and is also a personal expression by Daichi Hasaki, a local neighbor of Årc. Through shared values, the project will be developed collaboratively on the commons land of Årc.

Construction will begin in January 2026, and we anticipate that some aspects of the work may affect guests staying during this period.

My name is Daichi Hasaki, CEO of JINEN Inc. I would like to inform you about the upcoming construction on Årc yakushima.

First, I would like to sincerely apologize to those of you who already have reservations during the construction period, as this notice is coming later than it should have. Ideally, this information should have been shared at the time of booking. However, coordination with related parties took longer than expected, and the construction schedule was only finalized recently. We deeply regret any disappointment this may cause, especially for guests who were looking forward to a quiet stay.

The facility we are building is called JINEN SAUNA, a new sauna that circulates in harmony with the natural environment of Yakushima. Guided by the concept “When people are well, nature becomes well too,” we are working toward a pre-opening in April 2026.

During the construction period, we will do our utmost to minimize noise and visual impact. However, please note that construction work and the presence of workers will occur during daytime hours. Heavy machinery work will be completed during Årc’s closed period, so we expect loud noise to be limited.

As a small gesture of apology and gratitude, we would like to offer complimentary coffee to guests staying during this period, featuring Årc yakushima’s specialty coffee.

We also see this construction period itself as a process of regeneration. If you are interested, we warmly welcome you to observe the progress of the sauna being built, or to join environmental regeneration workshops held during this time.
